In our culture Hollywood is the destination for many who want to be involved with the "art that includes all arts" (motion pictures). In Mozart's day it was Vienna and the world of opera (opera, in it's time, was -,maybe still yet! - the "art that includes all arts").

Mozart wrote the "Ave verum corpus in 1791. Beethoven's 7th Symphony was written twenty years later, 1811 - 1812. Schubert's 3rd Symphony was written only four years after Beethoven's 7th during the summer of 1815, 200 years ago this year.

Brahms and Tchaikovsky share a May 7th birthdate, although they are seven years apart: 1833 for Brahms, 1840 for Tchaikovsky. Tchaikovsky died in 1893 at the age of 53, Brahms in 1897, just shy of his 64th birthday. Their music shares a certain sensibility of deeply running passion.
Mozart's 20th Piano Concerto in D Minor is now a standard piece in the repertoire. In it's day, though it was considered revolutionary.
