Monday night March 10 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on W-I-L-L 90.9 FMHD1 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. You’ll hear Tchaikovsky’s “5th Symphony”. Also on the program Carter Brey plays Dvorak’s “Cello Concerto” and two of the “Suites for Unaccompanied Cello” by Bach.
Sunday night March 9 at 6:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 you’ll hear Janacek’s “Violin Sonata” and Dvorak’s last “String Quartet” on the “Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 7:00 you’ll hear chamber music from Brazil, Spain, and Portugal on “Fiesta” and at 8:00 "Classical Music" from Santa Fe.
Friday night March 7 at 7:00 on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s “Early Music Now with Sara Schneider”. You'll hear a program titled “Antwerp, Crowned with Roses”. Broadcasting this program Friday nights at 7:00 permits us to collect new local recordings for use on future “Prairie Performances”.
Wednesday night Mar 5 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s the Cleveland Orchestra. Music Director Franz Welser-Möst leads the group in Mahler’s “7th Symphony”. Also on the program baritone Simon Keenlyside sings songs by Mahler.
Tuesday night March 4 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. You’ll hear Donizetti’s “Overture to Don Pasquale”, Verdi’s “Four Seasons” and Chabrier’s “Espana”. Also on the program the world premiere of Golijov’s “Megalopolis” Suite”.
Monday night March 3 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. You’ll hear William Grant Still’s “4th Symphony”, David Baker’s “Kosbro” plus music of Simon and Joachim.
Sunday night March 2 at 6:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 you’ll hear Mozart’s “Dissonance” String Quartet and Stravisnky’s “Divertimento after ‘The Fairy’s Kiss’’” on the “Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 7:00 you’ll hear music by Alejandro Garcia Caturla on “Fiesta”.
Friday night February 28 at 7:00 on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s “Early Music Now with Sara Schneider”. You'll hear a program titled “In Italy with Las Ratas”. Broadcasting this program Friday nights at 7:00 permits us to collect new local recordings for use on future “Prairie Performances”.
Wednesday night February 26 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s the Cleveland Orchestra. Music Director Franz Welser-Möst leads the group in Mozart’s “29th Symphony” and Tchaikovsky’s “2nd Symphony”. Also on the program music by a percussion concerto by Johannes Maria Staud.
Tuesday night February 25 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. William Welter is the soloist in Mozart’s “Oboe Concerto”. Also on the program Haydn’s “71st Symphony” and Mozart’s “29th Symphony”.
