Sunday night December 22 at 6:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 we pre-empt “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center” for the holiday special “All is Bright", then we present “A Classical Christmas” on “Fiesta”, and then pre-empt “Gateways Radio” for the holiday special “Welcome Christmas”.
Friday night December 20 at 7:00 on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s “Early Music Now with Sara Schneider”. You'll hear a program titled “A Star in the East”. Broadcasting this program on Friday’s at 7:00 PM gives us time to collect new local recordings for use on future “Prairie Performances”.
Thursday night December 19 at 7:00 on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 we pre-empt “The Sound of 13” to bring you the perennial holiday favorite “Jonathan Winters’ A Christmas Carol”. At 8:00 it’s “The Middle”: a weekly, non-partisan call-in talk show on politics.
Wednesday night December 18 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 we pre-empt our regularly scheduled concert broadcast so that we can bring you two holiday specials “365 Holidays with the Canadian Brass” and “Carols As Home with the Imani Winds”.
Tuesday night December 17 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast” is pre-empted so we can bring you two Holiday Specials: “Winter Holidays Around the World with Bill McGlaughlin” and “Three Tales of Christmas with Cantus”.
Monday night December 16 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. From the archives you’ll hear a 2008 recording of Handel’s “Messiah” with the Westminster Symphonic Choir and vocal soloists. Ton Koopman conducts.
Sunday night December 15 at 6:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9FM/HD1 we pre-empt our regularly scheduled programs “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”, “Fiesta”, and “Gateways Radio” to bring you a Holiday Special “A Classical Christmas on The Third Floor” hosted by Bill Cromwell.
Friday night December 13 at 7:00 on WILL 90.9FM/HD1 it’s “Early Music Now with Sara Schneider”. You'll hear a program titled “Happy 80th Birthday William Christie”. Broadcasting this program on Friday’s at 7:00 PM gives us time to collect new local recordings for use on future “Prairie Performances”.
Thursday night December 12 at 7:00 on WILL 90.9FM/HD1 you’ll hear another episode of “The Sound of 13”, a program that investigates the intersection between the 13th Amendment and classical music. At 8:00 it’s “The Middle”: a weekly, non-partisan call-in talk show on politics.
Wednesday night December 11 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9FM/HD1. You’ll hear Grieg’s “Piano Concerto” with soloist Leif Ove Andsnes and the Lucerne Festival Orchestra led by Klaus Mäkelä. Also on the program Schumann’s “2nd Symphony” and Mendelssohn’s “Hebrides Overture”.
