Thursday night January 25 at 7:00 on WILL-FM 90.9 … it’s the fourth episode in a series new-to-WILL: “The Sound of 13” hosted by Garrett McQueen”. It’s a program that examines the intersection of the 13th Amendment and classical music. At 8:00 it’s “The Middle”: a weekly, non-partisan call-in talk show on politics.
Wednesday night January 24 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 you’ll hear Dvorak’s “9th Symphony”, the “New World” Symphony” played by the German Symphony Orchestra led by Marin Alsop. Also on the program Jessie Montgomery’s “Strum”. The program differs from the one listed in Patterns Magazine.
Tuesday night January 23 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. You’ll hear Rossini’s’ “Overture to the ‘Voyage to Reims’” and Mozart’s “39th Symphony”. Also on the program Prokofiev’s “5th Symphony”.
Monday night January 22 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. From the Philharmonic’s vast archives you’ll hear Ernest Bloch’s “Concerto Grosso No. 1” and Paul Ben-Haim’s “Sweet Psalmist of Israel”. Also on the program Shostakovich’s “Symphony No. 13, ‘Babi Yar’”.
Sunday night January 21 at 6:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 you’ll hear Tchaikovsky’s “Souvenir de Florence” from Lincoln Center followed at 7:00 by music of Camargo Guarnieri on “Fiesta” and at 8:00 by another episode of “Gateways Radio”.
