The Evening Concert

Sunday night December 31 at 6:00 on WILL-FM 90.9 you’ll hear Baroque chamber music from Lincoln Center, then from 7:00 – 9:00 it’s the “Minnesota Orchestra New Year’s Celebration”, followed by “Jazz Night in America”, then NPR’s “Toast of the Nation” from 10:00 pm to 2:00 AM.  That’s our New Year’s Eve extended “Evening Concert” schedule.

Thursday night December 28 at 7:00 on WILL-FM 90.9 “The Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival” is pre-empted to bring you a holiday special: “The Film Score: Music for the Winter Holidays”. At 8:00 it’s “The Middle”: a weekly, non-partisan call-in talk show on politics.  

Wednesday night December 27 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra is pre-empted so that we can bring you two holiday specials: the “Wind & Rhythm Christmas Special” and “Jingle Them”, also from the producers of “Wind & Rhythm”.

Tuesday night December 26 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast” is pre-empted so that we can bring you two holiday specials: “The Sounds of Kwanzaa” and “The Ballad of the Brown King”.

Monday night December 25 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. Sherezade Panthaki, Reginald Mobley, Leif Auruhn Solén, and Jonathon Adams are the vocal soloists with the Handel and Haydn Society Chorus in Handel’s “Messiah”. Masaki Suzuki conducts.

Sunday night December 24 our holiday programs start at 5:00 pm with the “St. Olaf Christmas Festival” followed at 7:00 by “Classical Christmas in Latin America” on “Fiesta” and from 8:00 to 10:00 “A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols” recorded earlier in the day in Cambridge, England.

Thursday night December 21 at 7:00 on WILL-FM 90.9 “The Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival” is pre-empted to bring you a new holiday special from NPR: “A Paul Winter Solstice” featuring an array of Brazilian guests. At 8:00 it’s “The Middle”: a weekly, non-partisan call-in talk show on politics.  

Wednesday night December 20 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra is pre-empted so that we can bring you two holiday specials: “In Winter's Glow” and “The Christmas Revels: In Celebration of the Winter Solstice”.

Tuesday night December 19 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast” is pre-empted so that we can bring you two holiday specials: “A Latin American Christmas” and “A Mexican Baroque Christmas with the Rose Ensemble”.

Monday night December 18 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 “The New York Philharmonic This Week” is pre-empted so that we can bring you two holiday specials: “Christmas with the Morehouse and Spelman Glee Clubs” and “An Afro-Blue Christmas”.
