Thursday night July 7 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “The New York Philharmonic This Week” program that was postponed due to the 4th of July Holiday. You’ll hear Strauss’ “Don Quixote” and “Ein Heldenleben”.
Wednesday night July 6 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the first program in a new season from the “Los Angeles Philharmonic”. Soprano Golda Schulz is the soloist in Strauss’ “Four Last Songs’. Music Director Gustavo Dudamel conducts. Also on the program Strauss’ “Death and Transfiguration”.
Tuesday night July 5 at 7:00 on the Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast” with their Independence Day program “Variations on “America”. You’ll hear Gershwin’s “Cuban Overture”, Bernstein’s “Symphonic Dances from West Side Story”, and more.
Monday night July 4 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 “The New York Philharmonic This Week” is postponed until Thursday of this week so that we can bring you a Fourth of July special “May the Fourth Be With Us! An American Routes Independence Day Then and Now”.
Sunday night July 3 at 6:00 on FM 90.9 the “Evening Concert” starts with Brahms’ “1st Piano Trio” from Santa Fe, followed at 7:00 by Schumann’s “3rd Piano Trio” from Lincoln Center and at 8:00 by music performed by “Great Latino Virtuosi” on “Fiesta!”.
Thursday night June 30 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. You’ll hear Beethoven’s “7th Symphony” and Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson’s “Sinfonietta No. 2”. Also on the program music of Purcell, Kidane and Salmenhaara.
Wednesday night June 29 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra”. Micah Wilkinson is the soloist in Haydn’s “Trumpet Concerto” and Anthony Plog’s “Scherzo”. Kirill Karabits guest conducts. Also on the program Tchaikovsky’s “2nd Symphony”, subtitled “Little Russian”.
Tuesday night June 28 at 7:00 on the Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. The program features the Chicago Symphony Chorus led by Duain Wolfe in choruses from Verdi operas and in Beethoven’s “9th Symphony”. Music Director Riccardo Muti conducts.
Monday night June 27 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. It’s a playlist program that includes Copland’s “Appalachian Spring”, Vaughan Williams’ “Fantasia on ‘Greensleeves’”, and Debussy’s La Mer” (The Sea). Also on the program Ravel’s “Tzigane”.
