The Evening Concert

Sunday night April 10th at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Vierne’s Opus 42 “Piano Quintet” on “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 8:00 you’ll hear symphonic and chamber music by Claudio Santoro on “Fiesta!” With Elbio Barilari”.

Thursday night April 7 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the first program in a new series from the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. You’ll hear music by Bach and music inspired by Bach. Music Director Ken-David Masur conducts. Also on the program Mozart’s “Overture to the Marriage of Figaro”.

Wednesday night April 6 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra”.   Emanuel Ax is the soloist in Mozart’s “17th Piano Concerto”. Also on the program Tchaikovsky’s “Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture” and his “Serenade for Strings”.

Tuesday night April 5 at 7:00 on the Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”.  You’ll hear Tchaikovsky’s “6th Symphony” the “Pathetique” and Liadov’s “The Enchanted Lake”. Also on the program Missy Mazzoli’s “These Worlds In Us”.

Monday night April 4 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. You’ll hear Sibelius’ “2nd Symphony”, Berlioz’ “The Death of Cleopatra” featuring mezzo-soprano Jennie Tourel and Berg’s “Lulu” Suite featuring soprano Angela Reaux.

This week, Monday, April 4 through Sunday, April 10 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Sibelius’ “2nd Symphony” from New York, Tchaikovsky’s “6th Symphony”, the “Pathetique”, from Chicago, Mozart’s “17th Piano Concerto” from Pittsburgh, music inspired by Bach from Milwaukee, and Sunday chamber music by Ravel from Lincoln Center and “Fiesta! With Elbio Barilari”.

Sunday night April 3 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Dvorak’s Opus 65 “Piano Trio in F Minor” on “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 8:00 you’ll hear passionate and emotional Latin American Classical Music on “Fiesta!” With Elbio Barilari”.

Thursday night March 31 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “This Week from China’s National Centre for the Performing Arts”. You’ll hear Beethoven’s “9th Symphony”, and his Overture to the Creatures of Prometheus”. Also on the program Wagner’s “Prelude to Act I of Lohengrin”.

Wednesday night March 30 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra”.   You’ll hear the “Emperor Waltzes” by Johann Strauss, Jr. plus works by other members of the Strauss family. Also on the program Chausson’s “Poeme” featuring violinist Noa Wildschut.

Tuesday night March 29 at 7:00 on the Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”.  You’ll hear Beethoven’s “2nd Symphony” and Gershwin’s “An American in Paris”. Also on the program two piccolo concertos, one by Vivaldi, the other by Benshoof.
