Monday night September 12 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. You’ll hear Brahms’ “1st Symphony” and Webern’s arrangement of Bach’s “Fugue” from “Musical Offering”. Simone young guest conducts. Also on the program Dvorak’s “Cello Concerto” with soloist Sheku Kannah-Mason.
Sunday night September 11 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Brahms’ Opus 52 “Love-song Waltzes” on the “Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 8:00 you’ll hear Latin American music from the “Inka Road” tradition on “Fiesta”.
Thursday night September 8 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s a “Deutsche Welle Festival Concert”. You’ll hear Beethoven’s “6th Symphony”, the Pastoral, performed by the Basel Chamber Orchestra. Also on the program Beethoven’s two “Romances for Violin and Orchestra” with soloist Carolin Widmann.
Thursday night September 7 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Los Angeles Philharmonic”. Guest Conductor Paavo Jarvi leads the Philharmonic in Dvorak’s “7th Symphony”. Also on the program Barber’s “Violin Concerto” with soloist Hilary Hahn and Arvo Part’s “Silhouette”.
Tuesday night September 6 at 7:00 on the Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. You'll hear Piazzolla’s “Bandoneon Concerto” and “Oblivion” with soloist Daniel Binelli. Giancarlo Guerrero guest conducts. Also on the program Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 1 in C Major”.
Monday night September 5 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. You’ll hear Beethoven’s “4th Piano Concerto” with soloist Daniil Trifonov, Copland’s “Quiet City” and George Walker’s “Antifonys”. Music Director Jaap van Zweden conducts.
Sunday night September 4 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Saint-Saens’ “Piano Trio No.1 in F Major” on the “Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 8:00 you’ll hear performances of works by Cuban composer Leo Brouwer on “Fiesta”.
Thursday night September 1 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s a “Deutsche Welle Festival Concert”. You’ll hear choral and vocal soloist selections from cantatas by Bach on an all-Bach program from the 2021 “Bach Festival Leipzig”.
Wednesday night August 31 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Los Angeles Philharmonic”. Guest Conductor Ludovic Morlot leads the Philharmonic in Shostakovich “10th Symphony”. Also on the program Prokofiev’s “1st Piano Concerto” featuring pianist Sergio Tiempo and Thorvaldsdottir’s “Metacosmos”
Tuesday night August 30 at 7:00 on the Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Marin Alsop guest conducts the CSO in Elgar’s “Enigma Variations” and Barber’s “1st Symphony”. Also on the program Rachmaninov’s “2nd Piano Concerto” with soloist Lukáš Vondráček.
