The Evening Concert

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the San Francisco Symphony. Conductor Laureate Herbert Blomstedt leads the group in Mozart’s “36th Symphony, the Linz”, Brahms “3rd Symphony in F Major”, and Berwald’s “1st Symphony in G Minor, the Sinfonie serieuse”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s another Deutsche Welle Festival Concert from Schwetzingen. The Belcea Quartet plays Beethoven’s “Grosse Fuge” String Quartet and movements from works for string quartet by Shostakovich, Barber, Bartok, Webern, Szymanowski and Kurtag.  

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Paul Jacobs is the soloist in “Saint-Saens’ “Organ” Symphony. Emmanuel Krivine guest conducts. Also on the program Schumann’s “WoO D Minor Violin Concerto” with soloist Isabelle Faust.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. Leonidas Kavakos is the soloist for Tchaikovsky’s “Violin Concerto”. Also on the program Debussy’s “Nocturnes” and Stravinsky’s “Firebird” Suite.

This week on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Tchaikovsky’s “Violin Concerto” from New York, Saint-Saens’ “Organ” Symphony from Chicago, Beethoven’s “Grosse Fuge” from Schwetzingen, Brahms’ “3rd Symphony” from San Francisco, then Sunday electronic music from Lincoln Center and chamber music by Fritz Kreisler from Santa Fe.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Brahms’ “2nd Piano Trio in C Major” on “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”.  At 8:00 you’ll hear Schubert’s “Arpeggione” Sonata on the “Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the San Francisco Symphony. Emanuel Ax is the soloist in Beethoven’s “2nd Piano Concerto”.  Also on the program Wagner’s “Siegfried Idyll” and music by Julia Wolfe.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s a Deutsche Welle Festival Concert from Schwetzingen. Bernhard Forck leads the Academy of Ancient Music Berlin in Mehul’s “1st Symphony in G Minor”, Knecht’s Grand Symphony: “A Portrait of Nature in Music” and Holzbauer’s Op. 4, No. 3 Symphony.

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Music Director Riccardo Muti leads the group in the entirety of Smetana’s symphonic cycle “Ma Vlast” “My Fatherland”.   Also on the program Wagner’s “Siegfried Idyll”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. Anne-Sophie Mutter is the soloist and conductor for three of Mozart’s violin concertos, the “1st”, the “3rd”, and the “5th”.
