The Evening Concert

This week on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Sibelius’ “2nd Symphony” from New York, Haydn’s “Trumpet Concerto” from Chicago, Gade’s “String Octet” from Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition” from San Francisco, then Sunday Beethoven’s “Clarinet Trio” from Lincoln Center and a “String Quartet” by Schubert from Santa Fe.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Mendelssohn’s “Op. 44, No. 2 String Quarter” on “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”.  At 8:00 you’ll hear Elgar’s “A Minor Piano Quintet” on the “Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the third program in a new series from the San Francisco Symphony. Music Director Laureate Michael Tilson Thomas leads the San Francisco Symphony and Chorus in Stravinsky’s “Symphony of Psalms”. Also on the program, Stravinsky’s “Symphony in Three Movements”.  

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s a Deutsche Welle Festival Concert from Schleswig-Holstein. It’s an all-Carl Nielsen program on which you’ll hear a piano-four hand version of the “3rd Symphony”, the Op. 11 “Humorous Bagatelles” and the Op. 43 “Quintet for Winds”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. You’ll hear Verdi’s “Requiem Mass” with vocal soloists Barbara Frittoli, Olga Borodina, Mario Zeffiri and Ildar Abdrazakov with the Chicago Symphony Chorus and Orchestra led by Music Director Riccardo Muti.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. Emanuel Ax is the soloist in Beethoven’s “4th Piano Concerto”. Alan Gilbert conducts. Also on the program Beethoven’s “7th Symphony” and his “Overture to ‘Egmont’”.

This week on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Beethoven’s “4th Piano Concerto” from New York, Verdi’s “Requiem Mass” from Chicago, an all-Carl Nielsen program from Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, Stravinsky’s “Symphony of Psalms” from San Francisco, then Sunday Mendelssohn string quartet” from Lincoln Center and Elgar’s “Piano Quintet” from Santa Fe.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the second program in a new series from the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra. Daniil Trifonov is the soloist in Rachmaninoff’s “4th Piano Concerto”.  Music Director Laureate Michael Tilson Thomas conducts. Also on the program, Brahms’ “2nd Orchestral Serenade”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s a Deutsche Welle Festival Concert. Christian Tetzlaff, Tanja Tetzlaff, and Lars Vogt are the soloists in Beethoven’s “Triple” Concerto”. Also on the program Bruch’s “G minor Violin Concerto” and Beethoven’s 4th and 8th symphonies.
