The Evening Concert

This week on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Sibelius’ “Violin Concerto” from New York, Beethoven’s “7th Symphony” from Chicago, Mahler’s “1st Symphony” from Stuttgart, Ravel’s “La Valse” from San Francisco, then Sunday chamber music by Dvorak from Lincoln Center and by Weinberg from Santa Fe.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Mendelssohn’s “Op. 80 F Minor String Quartet” on “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”.  At 8:00 you’ll hear Bach’s “D Minor Double Violin Concerto” on the “Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the San Francisco Symphony. Leif Ove Andsnes is the soloist in Mozart’s “22nd Piano Concerto”. Manfred Honeck guest conducts.  Also on the program the Nowak edition of Bruckner’s “4th Symphony, the Romantic”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s a Deutsche Welle Festival Concert from Berlin. Robin Ticciati leads the German Symphony-Orchestra Berlin in Vaughan Williams’ “Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis”. Also on the program Prokofiev’s “1st Violin Concerto” with soloist Lisa Batiashvili.

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Jeremy Denk is the soloist in Beethoven’s “3rd Piano Concerto”. Michael Tilson Thomas guest conducts. Also on the program Arnold Schoenberg’s orchestration of Brahms’ “G Minor Piano Quartet”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. Itzhak Perlman is the soloist in Mendelssohn’s “E Minor Violin Concerto” Also on the program Strauss’ “Don Juan” and Hindemith’s “Symphonic Metamorphoses on Themes of Carl Maria von Weber”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s a Deutsche Welle Festival Concert from Berlin. You’ll hear Brahms’ “Opus 115 Clarinet Quintet” and Janacek’s “Fairy Tale” pieces for cello and piano. Also on the program movements from  violin sonatas by Beethoven, Debussy and Bartok.
