Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Lars Vogt is the soloist in Schumann’s “Piano Concerto in A minor”. Pinchas Zukerman conducts.  Also on the program Bruckner’s “9th Symphony”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the second program in a new series of Deutsche Welle Festival Concerts. You’ll hear Bach’s “St. John Passion” in a chamber-sized version from Leipzig, a town in which Bach lived and worked. Also on the program Bach’s Cantata No. 202.  

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Xavier De Maistre is the soloist in Ginastera’s “Harp Concerto”. Riccardo Muti conducts. Also on the program Chabrier’s “Espana” and Ravel’s “Bolero”. The program differs from the one listed in Patterns Magazine.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. Alan Gilbert conducts the Philharmonic in Dvorak’s “7th Symphony” and Barber’s “First Essay”. Also on the program Corigliano’s “One Sweet Morning” with mezzo-soprano Stephanie Blythe as soloist.

This week on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Dvorak’s  “7th Symphony” from New York, Ginastera’s “Harp Concerto” from Chicago, Bach’s “St. John’s Passion” from Leipzig, Schumann’s “Piano Concerto” from Pittsburgh, then Sunday Vivaldi’s “Concerto for 4 Violins” from Lincoln Center, and an episode of “Early Music Now”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Louis Spohr’s “Grand Nonet” for winds and strings on “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”.  At 8:00 you’ll hear motets by Obrecht, Gibbons and others on “Early Music Now with Sara Schneider”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Denis Kozhukhin is the soloist in Rachmaninoff’s “3rd Piano Concerto”. Gianandrea Noseda  guest conducts.  Also on the program Beethoven’s “2nd Symphony”  and Rossini’s “William Tell Overture”. 

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra led by Kirill Petrenko.  You’ll hear Mahler’s “4th Symphony” with soloist Christiane Karg. Also on the program Barber’s “Adagio for Strings’, Arvo Pärt’ “Fratres” and Ligeti’s “Ramifications”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Concertmaster Robert Chen is the soloist and conductor in Mozart’s “3rd Violin Concerto”. Also on the program Mozart’s “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik”, “2nd Flute Concerto” and “25th Symphony”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. Alexander Romanovsky is the piano soloist in Rachmaninoff’s “Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini”. Alan Gilbert conducts. Also on the program Act II from Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” ballet and Martinu’s “4th Symphony”.
