On this week's Prairie Performances, Friday at 7 pm on WILL-FM 90.9, learn about Edward Kennedy Ellington, also known as "The Classical Duke," as part of the Classically Black series airing this month celebrating Black Heritage Month. This week's Prairie Performances opens with the warm embrace of Duke Ellington and then features Nathan and Julie Gunn and UI Jazz faculty artists for Cabaret Songs from the Allerton Music Barn Festival. A warm closing to a special day; a cozy beginning to a special night.
