Some areas in northern Illinois and Iowa have been hit with a foot of snow.
Illinois State Police have issued a snow travel advisory for the Super Bowl weekend. As temperatures drop tonight and rain changes to snow in many areas, they expect wet and icy road conditions. They're reminding drivers to take it slow and watch for emergency vehicles.
The Champaign County Highway Department says plows and road salt are much less effective at the low temperatures and wind chills expected overnight.
