Carnegie Hall Live airs Monday evenings at 7:00, San Francisco Symphony airs Wednesday evenings at 7:00, and the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival airs Sundays at 8:00; the continuous seires are on Tuesday, the CSO, Thursday, New York Philharmonic and Sundays at 7:00 the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.
"From the Stage at Krannert Center" was recorded last October in Foellinger Great Hall at Krannert Center.
In Strauss' "Ein Heldenleben" there are over 30 quotations of music by Strauss from his previous tone poems, like "Also Sprach Zarathustra".
Saint-Saens "5th Piano Concerto" and "3rd Symphony" are his last works in those genres.
On the program, the "5th Symphony" by Prokofiev, "5 Fragments" by Shostakovich, and other 20th Century works.
The program features two complete violin concertos: Mozart's 3rd and Shostakovich's 1st and a quantity of smaller pieces and excerpts for violin.
Wolfgang's "3rd Violin Concerto", Camille's "5th Piano Concerto" and more, including Sunday's “From the Stage at Krannert Center: Song and Poetry with Nathan and Julie Gunn and the Jupiter String Quartet”.
