Susanna Mälkki guest conducts the CSO in a concert from June of this year (!). That's amazing that we can hear this concert so soon after it's original recording.
The "Song of the Earth" was originally published as a "Symphony" with vocal soloists, rather than some other music "form", like oratorio or aria.
