The Evening Concert

Wednesday night September 28 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Los Angeles Philharmonic”.  Gustavo Dudamel leads the Philharmonic in William Grant Still’s “1st Symphony”. Also on the program Peter Lieberson’s “Neruda Songs” and Angelica Negron’s “Morivivi”.

Tuesday night September 27 at 7:00 on the Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”.  Music Director Riccardo Muti leads the CSO in Liszt’s “”Les Preludes”, Tchaikovsky’s “Romeo and Juliet”, and Respighi’s “Pines of Rome”. Also on the program Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition”.

Monday night Setpember 26 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. You’ll hear vocal soloists Dorothea Röschmann, Anne Sofie von Otter, Steve Davislim, and Eric Owens with the New York Choral Artists in Bach’s “Mass in B minor”.

Sunday night September 25 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Bach’s BWV1039 “Trio Sonata for Two Flutes” on the “Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 8:00 you’ll hear the Camerata Punta del Este on “Fiesta”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s a “Deutsche Welle Festival Concert”. You’ll hear the Berlin Philharmonic, Berlin Radio Chorus and vocal soloists in Verdi’s “Requiem”. Also on the program Ukranian composer  Silvestrov’s “The Messenger”. 

Wednesday night September 21 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Los Angeles Philharmonic”.  Gustavo Dudamel leads the Philharmonic, Los Angeles Master Chorale and vocal soloists in Beethoven’s “9th Symphony”. Also on the program new works by Garrido-Lecca and Cortes-Alvares. 

Tuesday night September 20 at 7:00 on the Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”.  Music Director Riccardo Muti leads the CSO in Beethoven’s “3rd Symphony”, the ‘Eroica”. Also on the program Bizet’s “Roma” Symphony and Price’s “Andante moderato”.

Monday night September 19 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. Joshua Bell is the soloist in Beethoven’s “Violin Concerto”. Music Director Jaap van Zweden conducts. Also on the program Stravinsky’s “Pulcinella Suite” and “Duo Ye” by Chen Yi.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Vivaldi’s famous RV 93 “Lute Concerto” on the “Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 8:00 you’ll hear the music of Antonio Lauro on “Fiesta”. Thursday night September 15 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s a “Deutsche Welle Festival Concert”. From the 2021 Beethovenfest Bonn closing concert you’ll hear Mahler’s ‘2nd Symphony” “Resurrection” as performed by the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and Prague Philharmonic Choir led by Maxime Pascal.
