The Evening Concert

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear a string quartet by Haydn and a wind quintet by Reicha on “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 8:00 you’ll hear the “Rhythms of South America” on “Fiesta! With Elbio Barilari”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “Episode 4” in a new series titled “This Week from China’s National Centre for the Performing Arts”. Bruce Liu is the soloist in Ravel’s “Piano Concerto in G Major” and you’ll also hear Bruckner’s “6th Symphony”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra”. Cellist Anne Martindale Williams is the soloist in Tchaikovsky’s “Rococo Variations”.  Sir Mark Elder guest conducts.  Also on the Strauss’ “Till Eulenspiegel’s Merry Pranks” and Elgar’s “1st Symphony”.  

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. You’ll hear Concertmaster Robert Chen play Mozart’s “3rd Violin Concerto” and conduct the CSO in Mozart’s “25th Symphony in G Minor”. Also on the program Mozart’s “2nd Flute Concerto”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” [on FM 90.9] it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week” with a program of “English Composers from Tallis to Britten”. You’ll hear Holst’s “The Planets” and Vaughan Williams’ “Fantasia on Theme by Thomas Tallis”.  Also on the program Elgar’s “Cockaigne Overture”.

This week on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Holst’s “The Planets” from New York, Mozart’s “3rd Violin Concerto” from Chicago, Tchaikovsky’s “Rococo Variations” from Pittsburgh, Ravel’s “Piano Concerto in G” from Beijing, and Sunday chamber music by Haydn from Lincoln Center and “Fiesta!
