The Evening Concert

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s Carnegie Hall Live. Pierre-Laurent Aimard is the soloist in Ravel’s “Piano Concerto in G Major” with the Munich Philharmonic.   Also on the program Ravel’s “Daphnis and Chloe, Berlioz’ “The Death of Cleopatra” and Debussy’s “Images” for piano.

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”.  Guest conductor Semyon Bychkov leads the group in Tchaikovsky’s “Manfred Symphony”.  Also on the program guest conductor Edward Gardner leads the group in Wagner’s “Overture to Rienzi” and Nielsen’s “4th Symphony”.  

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. Frank Peter Zimmermann is the soloist in Brahms’ “Violin Concerto”. Alan Gilbert conducts. Also on the program, Berlioz’ “Symphonie fantastique’ and Lindberg’s “EXPO”.

This week on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Brahms’ “Violin Concerto” from New York, Tchaikovsky’s “Manfred Symphony” from Chicago, Ravel’s “Piano Concerto in G” from Carnegie Hall, Kurt Weill's “Violin Concerto” from Los Angeles, then Sunday “Hannukah Lights 2021” from NPR and orchestral music performed by the Symphony Orchestra of the State of Mexico on “Fiesta! Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 our Los Angeles Philharmonic program is pre-emptesd to bring you a Thanksgiving special: “Giving Thanks”, a contemporary, thoughtful celebration of the spirit of the holiday. You’ll hear music by Bach, Copland, Eric Whitacre and others.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s Carnegie Hall Live. Evgeny Kissin is the pianist in Tchaikovsky’s “1st Piano Concerto” with the New York Philharmonic.   Also on the program Shostakovich’s “5th Symphony” and the closing scenes from Stravinsky’s “The Firebird”.
