Wednesday night September 14 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Los Angeles Philharmonic”. Guest Conductor David Robertson leads the Philharmonic in Mahler’s “7th Symphony”. Also on the program from the Philharmonic archives Sibelius’ “Violin Concerto” with soloist Joshua Bell.
Tuesday night September 13 at 7:00 on the Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. David Afkham guest conducts the CSO in Brahms’ “3rd Symphony” and Haydn’s “44th Symphony”. Also on the program Richard Strauss’ “Death and Transfiguration”.
Monday night September 12 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. You’ll hear Brahms’ “1st Symphony” and Webern’s arrangement of Bach’s “Fugue” from “Musical Offering”. Simone young guest conducts. Also on the program Dvorak’s “Cello Concerto” with soloist Sheku Kannah-Mason.
Sunday night September 11 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Brahms’ Opus 52 “Love-song Waltzes” on the “Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 8:00 you’ll hear Latin American music from the “Inka Road” tradition on “Fiesta”.
Thursday night September 8 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s a “Deutsche Welle Festival Concert”. You’ll hear Beethoven’s “6th Symphony”, the Pastoral, performed by the Basel Chamber Orchestra. Also on the program Beethoven’s two “Romances for Violin and Orchestra” with soloist Carolin Widmann.
Thursday night September 7 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Los Angeles Philharmonic”. Guest Conductor Paavo Jarvi leads the Philharmonic in Dvorak’s “7th Symphony”. Also on the program Barber’s “Violin Concerto” with soloist Hilary Hahn and Arvo Part’s “Silhouette”.
Tuesday night September 6 at 7:00 on the Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. You'll hear Piazzolla’s “Bandoneon Concerto” and “Oblivion” with soloist Daniel Binelli. Giancarlo Guerrero guest conducts. Also on the program Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 1 in C Major”.
Monday night September 5 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. You’ll hear Beethoven’s “4th Piano Concerto” with soloist Daniil Trifonov, Copland’s “Quiet City” and George Walker’s “Antifonys”. Music Director Jaap van Zweden conducts.
Sunday night September 4 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Saint-Saens’ “Piano Trio No.1 in F Major” on the “Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 8:00 you’ll hear performances of works by Cuban composer Leo Brouwer on “Fiesta”.
Thursday night September 1 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s a “Deutsche Welle Festival Concert”. You’ll hear choral and vocal soloist selections from cantatas by Bach on an all-Bach program from the 2021 “Bach Festival Leipzig”.
