Thursday night August 4 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s a “Deutsche Welle Festival Concert”. Philippe Herreweghe leads the Champs-Elysées Orchestra and Collegium Vocale Ghent in Faure’s “Requiem” and Stravinsky’s “Symphony of Psalms” and “Requiem Canticles”.
Wednesday night August 3 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Los Angeles Philharmonic”. Xian Zhang leads the Philharmonic in Nokuthula Ngwenyama’s “Primal Message” and Julia Adolphe’s “Woven Loom, Silver Spindle”. Also on the program Beethoven’s “7th Symphony”.
Tuesday night August 2 at 7:00 on the Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Edo deWaart leads the CSO in John Adams’ “The Chairman Dances” and Dvorak’s “8th Symphony”. Also on the program Stravinsky’s “Violin Concerto” featuring Leila Josefowicz.
Monday night August 1 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. Former Music Director Alan Gilbert leads the Philharmonic in Barber’s “First Essay for Orchestra” and Dvorak’s “7th Symphony”. Also on the program Corigliano’s “One Sweet Morning” featuring mezzo-soprano Stephanie Blythe.
Sunday night Jul 31 at 6:00 on FM 90.9 the “Evening Concert” starts with Apollo’s Fire playing Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” followed at 7:00 by Beethoven’s Op. 132 “A Minor String Quartet” from Lincoln Center and at 8:00 by music of Astor Piazzolla on “Fiesta”.
Thursday night July 28 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s a “Deutsche Welle Festival Concert”. Jordi Savall leads his group Le Concert de Nations, Vox Bono chorus, and vocal soloists in Beethoven’s “Ninth Symphony”. Also on the program Beethoven’s “2nd Symphony”.
Wednesday night July 27 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Los Angeles Philharmonic”. Sunwook Kim is the soloist in Mozart’s “21st Piano Concerto”. Matthias Pintscher guest conducts. Also on the program Ravel’s “Bolero” and Le Tombeau de Couperin”.
Tuesday night July 26 at 7:00 on the Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Hilary Hahn is the soloist in Dvorak’s “Violin Concerto”. Andres Orozco-Estrada guest conducts. Also on the program Tchaikovsky’s “5th Symphony”.
Monday night July 25 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week” with an all-Stravinsky program. You’ll hear the composer conduct “Persephone”. Also on the program “The Rite of Spring” and 3 movements from “The Firebird”.
Sunday night July 24 at 6:00 on FM 90.9 the “Evening Concert” starts with Weber’s Op. 34 “Clarinet Quintet” from Santa Fe, followed at 7:00 by Schumann’s Op. 105 “Violin Sonata” from Lincoln Center and at 8:00 by “Six String Dreams” on “Fiesta”.
