Beethoven's 7th Symphony dates from 1811-12. It is noted by contemporaries that Beethoven is said to have remarked (paraphrased) that it was one of his best works.[It is!]

The programs open with the Ravel Piano Trio in A minor of 1914, and a work of 30 years later, the Shostakovich 2nd Piano Trio (1944), then music by Campion, Takemitsu and Brahms.
