Davis Wants To Know More About Alexander-Murray ACA Compromise

A congressman for central Illinois is watching the Senate carefully, as two Senators introduce a new proposal to reform the Affordable Care Act.

Republican Lamar Alexander and Democrat Patty Murray introduced a bi-partisan agreement that would resume federal reimbursement payments to health insurers that were halted by President Trump, and stabilize the health care market.

Congressman Rodney Davis is interested to see what the Senate does with the Alexander-Murray compromise. "I have need seen the details of the plan, but I hope a good, compromise bill gets through the Senate and comes back through the House so we can take a look at what comes out of there. Because, that’s what I’ve been clamoring for," Davis said.

The Taylorville Republican has long supported repealing and replacing the ACA.

Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, announced that he opposes the Alexander-Murray plan.
