On Wednesday morning, the Illinois General Assembly adjourned its spring session.

Today, we will talk with a couple of the reporters who worked into the night and the morning to cover what happened. We are joined by Alex Degman, a statehouse reporter who covers state government for public radio stations across Illinois, and Jerry Nowicki, the editor-in-chief of Capitol News Illinois.

First, we will learn more about the budget that passed through the House Wednesday morning and how people in Illinois might be affected by it.

Then, we'll discuss some of the legislation that was not passed, including potential changes to the Prisoner Review Board and a bill that would have given more land in DeKalb County to the Prairie Band Potawatomi tribe.

GUESTS:

Alex Degman

Statehouse reporter, Illinois Public Radio and WBEZ

Jerry Nowicki

Bureau Chief, Capitol News Illinois
