Central Illinois Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski is a Democrat representing the 13th district, which stretches from the Metro East region on the Illinois side of the St. Louis up to Springfield across through Decatur and over to Champaign Urbana.

Budzinski is in her first term in Congress. She’s running for re-election in a district drawn to favor Democrats, though she is being challenged by Republican Joshua Loyd. She’s also facing a write-in campaign from Chibu Asonye, who tried and failed to get on the ballot under the Green Party.

Budzinski joins the 21st to discuss where she stands on important issues such as reproductive healthcare, border security, as well as her support for more military funding for Israel.

Today's show also included a rebroadcast of the following "best of" segment, first aired July 1, 2024: "Nostalgia and the return of physical media."
