Interview: Victor Shi, Illinois’ Youngest Biden Delegate
With the Democratic National Convention approaching rapidly, delegates from across the country will cast their votes to make the party’s presidential candidate selection official. And for one Illinois delegate, that vote as a pledged delegate at the convention will come before he’s ever even voted in a Presidential election.
Victor Shi, 2020 graduate of Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, was 17-years-old when he was chosen in the Democratic primary — with more than 44,000 votes — to serve as a delegate from the 10th district of Illinois for Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden. And while delegates like Victor will not travel to Milwaukee this year, Victor will cast his vote remotely as the youngest Joe Biden delegate in Illinois.
