Tracking COVID-19 Outbreaks
Coronavirus cases are surging across Illinois. Over the weekend of November 7-8, 2020, more than 22,000 new cases were reported by the Illinois Department of Public Health. The seven-day average for the statewide positivity rate is over 10%. Pinpointing where those cases are coming from can be a challenge. The 21st speaks with a WBEZ reporter about what's happening in hospitals and public health officials, and talk with a professor who is mapping outbreaks.
