Sunday night February 12 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 you’ll hear Mozart’s “Sonata for Piano Four Hands in C Major, K. 521” on the “Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 8:00 you’ll hear music of the Sephardic people on “Fiesta”.
Thursday night February 9 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the “Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra”. You’ll hear Sibelius’ “2nd Symphony” and Rolf Martinsson’s “Open Mind”. Also on the program Mozart’s “22nd Piano Concerto” with soloist Yefim Bronfman.
Wednesday night February 8 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 you’ll hear Ravel’s “Bolero” as performed by the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra led by Alain Altinoglu. Also on the program, Massenet’s “Meditation from ‘Thais’” and Ravel’s “Tzigane” with violinist Renaud Capucon.
Tuesday night February 7 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. You’ll hear Florence Price’s “3rd Symphony” and William Grant Still’s “Mother and Child”. Also on the program Beethoven’s “4th Symphony”.
Monday night February 6 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. You’ll hear Sibelius’ “Violin Concerto” with soloist Augustin Hadelich. Also on the program, Berlioz’s “Symphonie fantastique” and Mozart’s “1st Symphony”.
Sunday night February 5 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 you’ll hear selections from George Crumb’s American Songbook. He earned his Master of Music from the University of Illinois in 1952. At 8:00 you’ll hear “Great Brazilian Pianist” on “Fiesta”.
Thursday night February 2 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the “Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra”. You’ll hear Debussy’s “La Mer, The Sea” and Ravel’s “Mother Goose” Matthias Pintscher guest conducts. Also on the program Bartok’s “2nd Violin Concerto” with soloist Alexi Kenney.
Wednesday night February 1 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 you’ll hear Beethoven’s “Pastoral” Symphony as performed by the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra led by Ariane Matiakh. Also on the program, Charles Koechlin’s “Towards the Starry Vault” and Bryce Desser’s “Violin Concerto” with soloist Pekka Kuusisto.
Tuesday night January 31 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. You’ll hear Beethoven’s “9th Symphony”. Also on the program choruses from Verdi operas and his Requiem.
Monday night January 30 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. You’ll hear Beethoven’s “1st Piano Concerto” with soloist Lars Vogt. Also on the program, Debussy’s “Images for Orchestra” and Daniel Börtz’s “Parados”.
