Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Barber’s “Souvenirs” for piano 4-hands and the “Appalachian Spring Suite” by Copland on “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 8:00 you’ll hear harpsichordist Māhan Esfahani and the group Fretwork on “Early Music Now”.

The English Virginalists

This program presents music for keyboard instruments, viols, and voices by late Tudor and early Jacobean composers like Thomas Tomkins, Orlando Gibbons, and Giles Farnaby. We'll hear works for harpsichord from a 2018 release by Mahan Esfahani, plus performances by Rose Consort of Viols and Fretwork.
