Music for Pilgrims and Penitents
If you'd gone on a pilgrimage to the shrine of the Virgin of Montserrat, Spain during the Middle Ages, you might have sung or danced to music from the Llibre Vermell de Montserrat. We'll hear selections from this volume performed by Hesperion XXI, plus one of the penitential Psalms by Lassus, sung by Collegium Vocale Gent.
