Field Trip

As a librarian there is nowhere I would rather be then the library (okay, except maybe the beach).  Anyway, it was exciting to take the girls to the Champaign Historical Archives.  The girls got to look through old newspapers, yearbooks and legal documents. It was so exciting to see them searching the microfiche for articles on people they were considering for interviews.  Time flew by quickly and we were off to lunch.  We dashed out to the mall which offered the largest variety for our different tastes. The girls were only mildly distracted by all the stores, but Mr. Lee and I managed to keep them focused.  Once lunch was finished we piled back onto cars and headed to WILL.  Henry was kind enough to give us a whirlwind tour of the studios. The girls were fascinated from the start by the miles of cable running below the floor and they just got more excited as we went from one studio to the next.  A perfect trip was capped by a surprise gift--our YMW sweatshirts!  The girls talked all the way home about how much fun they had and I know this is a trip they won't soon forget.
