Travel with us this fall and celebrate the golden age of trains. We go sightseeing in Chicago, where we visit the National Museum of Mexican Art, see the magnificent interiors of the former Marshall Fields store and wander through the Lurie Gardens. Then we head to Washington, D.C. and go on a night illumination tour of the monuments, then visit the Civil War's first battlefield, Bull Run, known as Manassas to the Confederacy. In Jamestown, Va., our guide takes us back to Colonial America and then we head to Yorktown, where French allies blocked resupply of the British resulting in the defeat of Cornwallis' army. We visit the Richmond National Battlefield Park, and the Appomattox Courthouse where Robert E. Lee surrendered. Back in D.C., we visit the National Cathedral before heading back to Chicago where we take a architectural tour of the city. Review the full itinerary for details.
