Events in east-central Illinois on Sunday, September 11th, will remember the victims of the 2001 Sept. 11th attacks, as well as the firefighters and police who came to rescue them, sometimes at the cost of their own lives.

Langdon Winnen is one of the country’s leading thinkers on the social and political issues surrounding technological change. He says that since September 11th, Americans have become deeply aware that the modern technology we value so highly can turn against us. We have dealt with that fear, with an even greater reliance on technology. The result, he says, is an even higher level of mistrust.
